in the development of solar farms
Harmony Solar has submitted nearly 50 planning applications related to solar farms, has received planning permission for over 1,800MW and has a further advanced pipeline of over 1,000MW which is at various stages of development making us one of the largest developers of solar farms in Ireland.

Typical Solar Farms
Harmony Solar develops all sizes of solar farms. These solar farms range in size from 30 acres up to 500 acres and in some cases larger again. These projects can have any number of landowners ranging from one up to 20 in some cases. Harmony Solar’s land team are highly experienced in bringing groups of landowners together to form an economically viable solar farm.
The larger projects are usually a number of different parcels of land with space between them. It may be several kilometres from one end of a project to the other and these are connected by cabling between the various parcels.
All projects will be close to, or beside, a medium or high voltage power line or substation known as the national grid network. The electricity generated by the solar farm will sell the electricity produced to the national grid.
