ESB Partnership
In 2020, Harmony Solar signed an agreement with ESB Solar, whereby both companies partnered on projects that Harmony Solar had developed. A press release was issued at the time.
Several of these projects are now in construction, including:
Middleton House Solar Farm, Co LongfordWexford Hub Solar Farm
Clashwilliam Solar Farm, Co Kilkenny
Milltown Solar Farm, Co Meath
The same agreement also provides that ESB Solar and Harmony Solar develop future projects in partnership. To date this includes over 25 projects in Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford.
Solar energy is a key part of ESB’s Brighter Future strategy which seeks to shift electricity generation away from fossil fuels by developing renewable projects of scale, and in doing so, lead the transition to a low carbon energy future based on clean, reliable and affordable electricity. This partnership has the potential to provide renewable electricity for approximately 230,000 homes – over ten percent of Ireland’s households.
